For those times when you're eight years old and the world seems to be against you. Drawn for the Mexican edition of Nickelodeon magazine.

The idea was to create book by several illustrators. Each one of us would draw a face to fit in a grid. Each page would feature two horizontal cuts in order to mix the differente faces on weird combinations (a typical toy book from the 70's, even Gary Panter and Charles Burns made one). Along with Santiago Casares we compiled the faces, created a project and sent it to a children's book contest. We won nothing. Now I retrieve my image from the hard disk, since I still like it...


La idea era hacer un libro entre varios ilustradores. Cada uno dibujaría un rostro con proporciones similares. Cada página traería dos cortes o suajes horizontales de manera que se pudieran mezclar las distintas caras en combinaciones extrañas (un típico libro juguete de los 70, incluso Charles Burns y Gary Panter hicieron uno). Junto con Santiago Casares compilamos varias caras, armamos un proyecto y lo mandamos a un concurso de libros infantiles. No ganamos nada. Hoy recupero mi imagen, que me sigue gustando...

After several postless months, I'm back on my weirdly-named illustrator's blog (kalli... what?), this time with a digital image created for Nexos Magazine, about the new gambling laws on Mexico. I promise to never again leave this space for so long.

Tras haber abandonado este blog varios meses (y mudar mi blog de escritor a una nueva dirección), estoy de regreso en el blog del nombre impronunciable (¿Kalli... qué?). Esta vez con una imagen digital creada para la revista Nexos, sobre las nuevas legislaciones alrededor del juego en México. Prometo no abandonar tanto este espacio.
